Professionalism Journal- What would I change about myself to become more professional

One of the things I do in class is talk when others are talking and giving smart remarks to other peoples thoughts. It is very hard for me cause it is a bad habit of mine. But I will try my best in the future for other peoples considerations and respect.

Learning Journal-Discuss each topic today-Economic development, innovation, and funding. And how it relates to your community

My community when it relates Economic Development in my eyes is a little behind others. Because as far as entrepreneurs and business's goes we only have 2. A gaming social club and a store. But i think we are innovative because our Pow Wow is very good and we do some things different then other reserves. For funding as in for business's i dont know much about but our community is under North Shore MicMac district council so they would have more to do with funding for ventures then the community itself.

Learning Journal-What I learned from the presentations

I learned that to be a successful businessperson you must learn from you mistakes, and majority of people who have successful businesses have failed before. Another thing I had learned was that you have to be commited to what you are selling or doing as a business.

Professionalism Blog--Are personal connections professional?

Personal connections are not professional in my eyes because I think professionals leave their personal feelings out the window and do what it takes to get the job done. For example, maybe in class you are paired up with a person to do an assignment with somebody you don't like. The professional thing to do is to just do your work and act accordingly to get the assignment done. As far as having a personal connections with your teacher, I think that a first name basis and some background and history of them is good enough. That way you know their style of teaching and what they are all about.

Professionalism Blog--The type of student that I am going to be for the duration of this semester

The commitment that I am going to make to the class? First of all I don't like making commitments, but for you guys I can make an exception. My commitment is that I will try to make it to the most classes that I can and will be on time unless something has come up. Another commitment is that I will participate in class discussions and always partake and give my honest opinion. That is all.

What I expect myself as a professional in training

I expect myself as a student and professional to go to class and partcipate in discussions, ect. I also expect myself to do all assignments (on time) and to be prepared for exams and tests. I also think that students should not interrupt the professor or when others are talking.

A professional in my eyes is someone who engages in any activity with poise and intelligence and is proper doing so. I also view people who are the best at what they do as a professional, an example being a professional hockey player. If you play in the NHL you are considered a professional hockey player because you are among the best in the world at playing hockey.
